Marla's Quilt Page

This is the first quilt I totally designed and created. It is called "Black and White". It was going to be called Black and White and Red all over. But when I experimented with red as a top layer. I did not like any of the results. This quilt uses bargello and paper piecing tecniques. The size is 8.5" x 11".

This is called the "Star Quilt" I started it in a Christmas craft class, than embelished it with beads and charms. It is 12"x12".

Fish Quilt is what this is called. I got the idea from a book called Quilts with a View. I forget the authors name right now and the book is in the other room. This quilt was created out of fat quarters. It was really fun to sew.

This is a nother 8.5"x11", its called flower quilt. I got the idea from seeing ragtime quilts.

Turning a Corner is also 8.5"x11". This quilt is a creative interpretation of turning a corner in my life. It is about realizing I needed help and taking steps to make my life healthier, emotionally. This is a poor picture of a very lovely quilt. The top layer is made of a very shiney fabric and kept reflecting in the camera. The idea for this quilt from the book Fantasy Fabrics by Bonnie Mccaffrey.

This quilt was started in a class. The pattern comes from a book called Log Cabin with a Twist. This is not a good picture.

This was a very fun quilt to make. First I splattered paint on wonder under. than using a teflon sheet I ironed on dots in matching colors. The quilt stayed tacky for several days.

The back of this quilt was also fun to make I swirled paint and than painted wonder under. As it dried the paper backing shriveled leaving an interesting texture.
